Some of the tapestries that I've done...

Here's the fabric I bought for this tapestry. It took a bit to get it squared up and trimmed.

I should have taken a picture of the pattern drawn out on the fabric but I'm just starting to document my dyeing and it seems that I have alot to remember but here is the tapestry tied.

The person that ordered this dye told me what colors they wanted but it's up to me to decide where to put them. This can be one of the hardest parts because once you put the dye on there's no turning back.

Here's one side fully dyed.

Turn it over and start on the other side. At this point you have to start thinking about how it's going to look and what is going to happen when colors start merging. When you're free form dyeing it's hard to match up the colors on the other side.

I forgot to take a picture when I was done with the dyeing, so here is a shot of it after it's batched and I've cut open the plastic wrap.

Here is the dye in chrysalis stage...there's so much potential wrapped in that plastic.

I've opened the sheet to where it's still folded in quarters...at this point I know it's going to look good.

The washout...perhaps my least favorite part of the whole process.

Here is the final product. 12' long by 8'10" high.
I wish I had area big enough to have gotten the whole dye in the photo.
The dye is now living in southern California.

I think it looks very cool and I hope it's owner always finds it nice to look at.
